Elizabeth Patterson, clerk, opened the meeting.

Paul Zent, Supervisor, made a motion to approve the minutes of the previous annual meeting.  Ken Selzler, Supervisor, seconded the motion.  The motion passed on a voice vote.

Supervisor Selzler nominated Cyndy Meidinger to be an election judge.  The nomination was seconded by Supervisor Zent.

Kerry Olson, Supervisor, nominated Marv Abraham to be an election judge.  The nomination was seconded by Supervisor Zent.

Supervisor Selzler nominated Paul Zent to be an election judge.  The nomination was seconded by Supervisor Olson.

The nomination of Cyndy Meidinger, Marv Abraham, and Paul Zent to be election judges was approved on a voice vote.

Supervisor Zent nominated Kerry Olson to be moderator.  The nomination was seconded by Supervisor Selzler.  The nomination of Kerry Olson to be moderator was approved on a voice vote.

Moderator Olson took over the meeting.

Township roads:  Supervisor Zent said the township is anticipating increased income from building permits in the upcoming year and the board would like to direct that increased income into more gravel on township roads.  He said the board would like to look at applying recycled asphalt on subdivision roads.  He also said the board is intending to contract with private companies to haul gravel.

Weed control:  Supervisor Zent mentioned that if we have a dry summer, we may need to acquire a product called milestone to treat weeds in the township.  Supervisor Selzler indicated that there is a cost-share program with the county for township residents to purchase the milestone product and he encouraged residents to contact the county extension office for more information.

Zoning:  Supervisor Zent said that in the upcoming year, the board will continue to maintain a line of communication with the city of Lincoln regarding zoning issues.

Treasurer’s report:  Ms. Patterson said for the year ending December 31, 2012, total receipts, including property taxes, gas tax, state aid, and miscellaneous receipts, were $141,790.72.  Total expenditures, including board salaries, dues and meals, legal notices, blading and graveling (county maintenance agreement), insurance, weed control, and road repair, were $118,579.54.

Moderator Olson introduced the candidates for election--Ken Selzler for a three-year term as supervisor, Rick Solberg for a two-year term as zoning board member, and Mike Schwartz for a two year term as treasurer.  Moderator Olson then opened the floor for nominations for any of the open positions.

Supervisor Zent made a motion to adjourn the meeting.  Supervisor Olson seconded the motion.  The annual meeting was adjourned on a voice vote.
